The library now runs on Jellyfin, and you watch it through an app called Moonfin instead of Plex. Your old Plex login won't work here — you'll get a fresh account from me. The best part of the move: you can now add movies and shows yourself.

Install Moonfin on your device
Pick the kind of device you want to watch on. You can set up as many devices as you like — the same login works on all of them.

Open the App Store, search Moonfin, and tap Get. Same app covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

Fire TV can't use the Play Store, so Moonfin has to be installed manually with the Downloader app. It's a five-minute job but it's fiddly — message me and I'll walk you through it.

Don't want to install anything? Just visit the server address in Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox and sign in there. Great for a work laptop or a borrowed computer.

The browser is perfect for a quick watch. For anything regular — especially on a TV — install the Moonfin app instead. It looks better, remembers where you left off more reliably, and handles big 4K files far more smoothly.

You only do this once per device. After that the app just opens straight to the library.
- Open Moonfin The first screen asks you to add a server. If you've used it before, look for Add Server in the menu.

If it says it can't find the server, check for typos and make sure you includedhttps://. - Pick your account and enter your password You'll see a list of accounts — tap your own name, then type the password I gave you. Passwords are case-sensitive. Don't see your name on the list? Let me know and I'll set you up.
- Choose your profile and start watching You'll land on the library — Movies, TV Shows, and anything else you have access to. Everything streams; nothing takes up space on your device unless you download it on purpose.
Add your own movies and shows
This is new, and it's the whole reason for the switch. It's built right into Moonfin — no second app, no other website, no extra login. Search for what you want, request it, and it downloads by itself.
Open Requests in Moonfin
It's in the app's main menu, alongside Movies and TV Shows. Same app you watch in — you're already signed in.
Search for it
Type the name of any movie or TV show. It doesn't have to be in the library yet — that's the point.
Hit Request
For a series you can request the whole thing or just the seasons you're missing. The download starts on its own.
Watch it
Once the download finishes it appears in the library automatically. Nothing else for you to do.
How long does it take? Usually minutes for a popular film, sometimes a few hours for something older or obscure. It'll appear in Moonfin on its own when it's done — you don't need to keep checking, and you don't need to tell me.
If a request doesn't turn up after a day, it probably means nothing good could be found for it. That's when to message me, and only then.

A few habits that make everything work better for everyone.
Download before you fly
On phones and tablets you can download an episode or movie over Wi-Fi and watch it offline later. Perfect for planes and road trips.
Subtitles & audio tracks
Tap the speech-bubble or gear icon while something is playing to switch subtitles or pick a different audio track.
It remembers where you stopped
Start on your phone, finish on the TV. Progress syncs across every device signed into your account.
Missing something? Add it.
If a movie or show isn't in the library, request it yourself — no need to ask me first, and don't assume anything is off-limits.
Keep your login to yourself
Your account is yours. Sharing it around means strangers on the server and everyone's stream getting slower — please don't pass it on.
A few streams at a time
This runs on a home server, not a data centre. If several people watch at once things can get choppy — it usually sorts itself out in a minute.
If something goes wrong
Try these first — they fix about nine problems out of ten.
The app says it can't find the server
Almost always a typo. The address must be exactly https://jellyfin.mathewsserver.com — don't drop the jellyfin. at the front, don't add www, and watch for a trailing space (phones love to add one).
Still stuck? Try opening jellyfin.mathewsserver.com in your phone's web browser. If that loads, the server is fine and it's the app; if it doesn't, message me — the server may be restarting.
My password isn't working
Make sure you tapped the right name in the account list first. Then check the password itself — it's case-sensitive, and autocorrect loves to capitalise the first letter. Type it carefully, or paste it in.
If it still won't take, I can reset it in about ten seconds — just ask.
Video keeps buffering or looks blurry
First, check the obvious: other people streaming in the house, or a weak Wi-Fi signal. Moving closer to the router fixes this more often than you'd think.
If it's still rough, open the playback settings in Moonfin and lower the quality (try 1080p or 720p). A lower-resolution stream that plays smoothly beats a 4K one that stops every thirty seconds.
Playback won't start at all, or the screen stays black
Close the app completely and reopen it. On a TV, unplug the stick or box for ten seconds and plug it back in.
If one specific title fails but everything else plays, the file itself may be the problem — tell me which one and I'll re-download it.
Can I still use Plex? My old login doesn't work
The Plex server is gone — everything lives on Moonfin now, and your Plex account has nothing to do with this one. You need the new username and password I gave you.
Feel free to delete the Plex app off your devices once you're up and running here.
I requested something and it's not there yet
Give it time. Popular films often land within minutes, but older or more obscure titles can take a few hours to find. It'll appear in the library by itself — there's no button to press and nothing to tell me.
You can check on it in the Requests section of the app, the same place you asked for it.
If it's still missing after a day, nothing suitable could be found for it. Message me at that point and I'll take a look.
Is there a limit on how much I can request?
No hard limit — request what you'll actually watch and it's fine. Just don't queue up an entire franchise you're not going to get to; disk space on a home server isn't infinite.
Can I watch on more than one device?
Yes. Install Moonfin on as many of your own devices as you want and sign in with the same account on each — phone, TV, laptop, all of it.
Does this cost anything?
Nothing. The app is free and the server is mine. Enjoy it.
